LUCIE

LUCIE is an incredibly helpful tool that you’ll probably end up using sometime after your first year here at Lehigh. You’ll probably find it daunting at first, but that’s how every new piece of technology looks when you’re first introduced to it. Though it may seem like a slow and inefficient tool in the beginning, once prepared, LUCIE will allow you to apply for any job available to Lehigh students with a single click. All of your information and even your resume will then be passed over to your employer, who can then decide when to schedule your interview.

LUCIE is a completely free tool but it comes with no beginning instructions, so it will be helpful to know what to do before first coming on. Since LUCIE is connected to Lehigh servers, you should be able to connect to your account like you would sign into the Lehigh Portal. Once on, LUCIE will begin to compile all of your information. LUCIE will ask for your name, birthday, email, cell, and address as all formal accounts work. Once that’s finished, LUCIE will need your expected graduation date and your status as a Lehigh Student. That includes your year, intended major, current GPA, your degree level (if currently applicable). This concludes your personal and academic profile, which should only take around 20 minutes.

Once that’s finished, you can upload your current resume to LUCIE. You can update it anytime you like, so always keep your resume up to date! From here, you can do a variety of things.

  • Search for Jobs
    • LUCIE’s job directory can help you find jobs for specific majors to apply to. If you see something you like, you can check a box to save it, or simply press apply to get your info sent to the employer.
  • Search for Employers
    • Got a specific employer in mind? LUCIE has a directory with more than 11,000 contacts with emails or phone numbers so that you can talk to them directly and figure things out. Once again, you can save your favorite employers or contacts and LUCIE will remember them for you.
  • Check Status on Interviews
    • You’ve probably got a loaded schedule with classes and interviews and all. LUCIE can tell you which interviews are in the works and which have been scheduled for you.
  • Find Career Services Events
    • All of Lehigh’s Career Services events are scheduled in LUCIE’s calender. LUCIE can tell you when all of your events are and when all the informative workshops are. These workshops will be a great resource to strengthen your application in front of employers.

I may not be using it now, but you can count on me to furnish up my resume and prepare everything for next year.

About lujosh18

My name is Salvador "Salamander" Joshua Tarun III. I play ultimate frisbee and draw in my free time, but I also love watching movies or reading comics of all sorts. I'm extremely active outside and try to do keep in shape whenever I can. I was (and still am!) a member of the Filipino American Association of Pittsburgh as its youth president and one of its main dancers. I'm planning to become an electrical engineer, and I'm currently rooming in Dravo. You might see me at Zoellner playing piano or in the gym bouldering and rock climbing. If you do, come say hi!
